Growing up we were given enemas by my aunt (nurse).  She used a Higginson syringe.  It was red rubber bulb, had red hose on each end and a black nozzle.
I have given. Any enemas in my home.  It’s one of the best home remedies to give.
Few times I hooked this bulb to the enema bag.  Pumped the desired amount of solution into the one getting the enema.  Other times I used the syringe with a hose on both ends.  One end had an enema nozzle on it.  The other hose was placed in the large bowl of warm soapy water.
I used this bulb when giving enemas on the bed and on the table.
Loved knowing how much solution has been given(seeing the enema bag go flat or the solution level in the bowl going down.

It is easy to give enemas with this syringe.  Good quality.

I recently administered an enema at a friend’s house.  Used this syringe.  She told me it was a very relaxing enema.

I don't use it to control the flow.  The clamps do that.  I use it to get the last of the solution out of the bucket or bag.  I also use it to clean my enema bag.  I fill the bag with hot water and mild soap.  Squeezing the bulb pulls the hot soapy water into the tubing. I detach the full hose from the bag and let it sit in a sink of hot water while I finish cleaning the bag.  Then I run hot water through it pumping it with the bulb until the water runs clear and free of soap.

Then I

I love this bulb for control of the solution. You can squeeze it hard or soft to maintain the volume. I use a colon tube so I do a test run by putting plain water in the bag and squeezing the bulb hard and soft to see how it comes out at the end. Therefore I know my volume control. Be sure when attaching the bulb that the air comes out and does not go backwards into the bag. Very important! A Ramp Clamp also helps flow control.
